vCam-5 Control Module
The vCam-5 control module is designed and manufactured with the plumbing contractors needs in mind. The latest technology in imaging and recording are packaged in a rugged ABS injection molded housing made specifically for harsh conditions.

Reel
The cable reels from Vivax-Metrotech are made of stainless steel tubular construction for rugged day-to-day outdoor use. Two cable reels are available to give you a range of options for various jobs such as the ultra-portable Type-M2 Reel for tight confined space use, entering vents from rooftops or for long-run small diameter laterals with access points in basements. The 200’ Type-CP reel which is the general day to day workhorse and the 400’ Type-CP good for the municipal worker concerned with checking main lines from manhole to manhole.

Camera Skids
Camera skids are devices that attach to the camera head to 1) keep the camera head off the floor of the pipe, to help avoid pushing up debris and dirt on which will end up on the cameras lens blocking your view, 2) allow the camera LED lighting to function better by keeping the lights more centered in the pipe allowing a more even spread of light on the pipe walls and ahead and 3) provide protection to the camera head by giving a shoveling effect which allows the camera head to be lifted over offsets and objects which helps prevent the camera head from making direct contact with them. And lastly the skids will help increase the pushing distance of the camera and pushrod by providing a more non-binding material to slide against plastic, clay, metal and cement pipes.
There are a variety of skids for specific uses and camera sizes and few different methods of attaching the skids to the camera system.

![]() | Standard Skids are the protective covers that come as standard issue with new camera heads. The purpose of this protective cover is to avoid direct contact between the camera housing and the floor of the pipe. These plastic covers also lessen the friction between the camera housing and pipe floor to help achieve greater pushing distance. This skid is supplied with the D25, D34 and D46 series cameras. |
![]() | 2-1/4” Guide skid is a good skid to use in 4 inch with multible bends. The small diameter and rounded shape make this a good skid to use in 4 and 6 inch pipes. This skid fits the D34 series cameras for both the Mini and Standard reels. |
![]() | 3” Guide skid is a good skid to use in 4 inch and 6 inch pipes of all materials. The rounded shape helps guide the camera over offsets and leads it through elbows and through wyes. ![]() | Pipe Spyder skids are the spring mount type and can be used in 4 to 6 inch lines. The flexibility of the Pipe Spyder when mounted on a spring allow it to lay down when going though elbows or traps and stand back up when through it. Use this skid on the 1 inch, Mini and Standard termination springs with the Mini and Standard Reels. |
![]() | Mini Roller skid have eight wheels which help it roll through 4 to 6 inch lines. The shape of the Mini Roller allows it to push up on offsets and negotiate through seemed spaces, 90 degree and 45 degree bends in metallic and non metallic pipes. Use with cameras D25, D33 and D34 on Mini and Standard reels. |

![]() | Large Roller skid can be used in larger diameter pipes to help keep the camera head centered in larger pipes to help make the best use of the cameras lighting. The Large Roller skid has adjustable settings for use in pipe diameters from 8” to 15”. When the skid is completely collapsed it can be used in 8’’ pipes. Use the Large Roller skid with the D46 camera attached to a 12mm termination spring. This adjustable skid works best in straight run applications such as running from manhole to manhole. |
![]() | The Type "B" Roller Skid has adjustable size settings for use in pipe diameters from 8” to 15”. The six(6) polyurethane wheels help this skid glide through larger diameter pipes while keeping the D46 camera centered in the pipe. When the skid is completely collapsed it can be used in 8’’ pipes. Use the Type-B skid with the D46 camera attached to a 12mm termination spring. This adjustable skid works best in straight run applications such as running from manhole to manhole. |
